Garden Party at West Lodge
Project volunteer Kay, kindly invited the core Stories of the Stones group to West Lodge at St John’s Cemetery for a garden party this week. We celebrated the achievements of the project so far with sandwiches, tea and cake. We also did a bit of work to plan what will be the final event in this first pilot phase of exploring community engagement with and the regeneration of the Elswick cemeteries. The event will take place at St John’s Cemetery on Monday 9th September and will form part of the national Heritage Open Days programme. Put the date in your diaries! More information soon.
