Our digital archive – where you can find out everything about Keelmen’s Hospital’s past, present, and future – is almost ready to share!
The archive will grow during the two year project to save the building and bring it back in to use, sharing stories, discoveries, decisions made and lessons learned along the way.
As the work to save Keelmen’s and return it to its use as affordable housing is important both in our region and beyond, we hope that the archive will be used by heritage and housing organisations to take inspiration from, as well as people just hoping to find out more about the building and its residents. National organisations are already using Keelmen’s as a case study for adapting a heritage building to meet present-day needs, you can read their exploration of energy efficiency here.

In the meantime, you can check out the holding page here. You’ll find blog posts updating you about the works to the building so far, insights into what it’s like to work and volunteer for the Trust, and a brief timeline of the building’s history (including a very 1990s fashion shoot!).

If there’s anything you’d particularly like to see on the archive, do let us know via Instagram or Facebook!
